Scranton Cultural Center Wedding | Scranton, PA
Lara + Jed
"Like a river flows surely to the sea, Darling so it goes Some things are meant to be, Take my hand, take my whole life too For I can't help falling in love with you..." - Elvis
Lara and Jed’s love story began in the most romantic city in the world, Paris. They met while studying abroad but were lucky to continue their story back her in the United States. When it came time to propose, Jed wanted to include the very place they first fell in love but knew getting Lara all the way back to Paris might be a little challenging – – so he brought her to the next best place! Jed asked Laura for her hand in marriage in front of the illuminated Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas!! I absolutely loved how creative Jed was in proposing to her and continuing their story 🙂
Lara and Jed’s wedding day was a timeless romantic fairy tale!! I absolutely loved everything about Lara’s elegant bridal style and Jed’s handsome black tuxedo! When planning a Scranton wedding all the way in Texas (where the couple currently lives), only one venue will do – – the most elegant and intricate venue we have – – the Cultural Center! Lara and Jed made things official at the gorgeous St. Peter’s Cathedral in downtown Scranton followed by some seanic photos at Nay Aug’s rose garden. We then headed back to the Cultural Center for some beautiful portraits of Lara + Jed in the Library! Meanwhile, downstairs Central Park Florals did an amazing job (as always) of bring beauty and luxury to the Cultural Center while incorporate soft, romantic pinks and whites!! Once the party started, it was kept going by one of my favorite local DJs, Barry Allen from Single Step Sound Production!
At the end of the night I said fairwell to Lara + Jed, sad that the night was over, and started to walk away. As I turned backed and watched them slow dancing in the middle of the crowd all I could think of was the scene from Casablanca and the line “we’ll always have Paris…”
Enjoy a peak into Lara + Jed’s love story…
While documenting Lara’s wedding dress, I noticed this GORGEOUS black and white photo hanging on the wall. It was an image of her mother in her dress on wedding day – I instantly knew I wanted to capture an image of Lara’s beautiful mother on her daughter’s wedding day.
Lara + Jed wrote each other letters to read on their wedding day. While editing the photos I noticed these two images were taken 5 seconds apart. Just 5 seconds. Which means that at some point on their wedding day – – Lara and Jed were thinking of each other at the EXACT SAME moment in time. ugh, ROMMMMAAAAAANNNNCCCCEEEEE! !!
